10 CRAFT BEERS TO TRY IN 2019

10 Craft Beers to Try in 2019

Over the last few years craft beers have become all the rage. Going to a bar and ordering a bud light or coors is now considered taboo.  If you’re new to the craft beer scene, it’s hard to know where to start with such a growing list of breweries and beer connoisseurs. So, we’re doing you a solid by giving you our list of top 10 craft beers to try in 2019.

After you try them all you might want to take it to the next level and join other self proclaimed ‘beer geeks’ by signing up for beer conventions, using the popular Untappd app, or hoarding hard to get beers.

What is Craft Beer?

Craft beer is defined as a beer made in a traditional or non-mechanized way by a small brewery. Most people think of it as beer for hipsters and millennials, but in 2019 craft beer will be more mainstream then ever before.

1. Pizza Port Brewing Co. – Bacon and Eggs Porter

With award-winning cold-pressed coffee from Bird Rock Roasters of La Jolla, this Coffee Porter is black in color with a khaki tan head. Strong coffee flavors with rich chocolate and roasted malts. This 2019 release is only available in select locations. Lucky for you we are one of the first to showcase it and it pairs perfectly with our stout molasses taco.

2. 8 Bit Brewing- Hazy Shallow & Pedantic

This Beer is Hazy IPA w/ Hallertau Blanc, & Mosaic. Untappd users report it as refreshing and crisp with an ABV of 7.8%. If you want to check this one out, make sure you come in ASAP. It’s been a big seller and it will be gone before you know it.

3. Cantillon – Classic Gueze

This beer is a Blend of lambics produced during different years. It has a slightly acidic and fruity taste, delicate and woody fragrance and a dry finish that lingers on the palate. This 5.5% ABV Gueze has taste evolution that will keep for a long time in a good cellar.

4. Upright Brewing – Fantasia

Fantasia has been brewed annually since 2008 using peaches from Baird Family Orchards. Each vintage features a layered nose that leads into a deep profile on the palate, with complex acidity achieved through extended aging. 6%ABV

5. Local Craft Beer- Die Hard Fans Demand More

This hazy IPA is a collaboration with Beer Zombies and is a NE DIPA quadruple dry hopped with Mosaic and Galaxy. Giving amazing berry flavors, Untappd users report it’s “Hazy and sorta juicy” with a ABV of 8.5%.

6. Abomination Brewing Company- Wandering into the Fog

A juicy smooth sipping double IPA (8%ABV). Brewed with a heavy wheat and oat malt bill hopped and double dry hopped aggressively with Mosaic, Pacific Jade, and Eukanot. This is a fully stacked hops line up.

7. Almanac- Strawberry & Basil

Strawberry & Basil is Almanac’s summertime sour that finds the perfect balance between sweetness and funk. After aging a farmhouse base with our wild yeast house culture, we added a mountain of strawberries and finished this ale with fresh Thai basil. The final brew is bursting with ripe berry flavors and herbaceous aromas of licorice and spice. Sour Farmhouse Ale Aged in Oak Barrels with a 6.5%ABV

8. Montucky Cold Snack

Their mission is “Inspire others to live life to the fullest and give back to our communities, all while providing the most refreshing beer on the planet. Have Fun. Do Good. Be Good.” With that moto they manage to give back 8% to local charities. This lager is a standard easy drinking lager with a low price tag, which appeals to many beer drinkers.

9.Evil Twin Brewing-  Even More Jesus

A few times in the history of craft beer it has happened that a highly praised beer rises beyond mortal stardom into a higher godly league. Usually, the recipe to make such heavenly drops is thick fudge-like body, pitch black color, amazingly overwhelming aromas of chocolate, coffee, dark fruits and muscovado sugar, obviously only made in limited amounts and most crucial of all – it must taste rare! 12%ABV. We have this beauty on draft, make sure you put it towards the top of your ‘to drink’ list.

10. Firestone Walker Peachy Bones

These California white peaches from Sanger, CA are fermented with a brett’d saison that has been maturing four months in French oak barrels. The synergy between fresh peach, wild microflora and oak components create a bright white peach flavor mingling with spicy yeast and oak aromas. Soft acidity and a firm carbonation lend “pop” to the overall sensory experience. It took four separate fermentations to create this concoction. Santé!

Now that you’ve seen the list, which ones will you try first? The good news is we currently have all these beers at our restaurant and we can recommend taco pairings for all of them. The bad news is they won’t be there for long. By now you’ve probably become an expert ‘beer nerd’, so what are you waiting for?  Come check out our craft beers in Las Vegas!
